The Clown

The clown lays hiden, the clown stays low
The clown's in all of us though some don't know
But the stiff will dance and the meek will shout
When they drink the magic potion and the clown comes out

The clown is jolly, he makes us smile
We all love to watch him and his slap-stick style
If you want to join him, it's easy to do
Just drink the magic potion and you'll be a clown too

But when it's over, the clown is gone
You sleep the whole next day thru with the curtains drawn
The makeup's off, all you feel is pain
You puke up last night's potion -- flush it down the drain

The clown wants freedom, he must come out
Though last time your face wound up on the bathroom grout
You take one sip and the clown's set free
His seduction's stonger than your memory

Your spouse has had it, your folks you trick
Other workers always wonder why you call in sick
Your stomach hurts, your hair's turned grey
But the clown will always be there, Sammy says it's okay
