No One Like Me

I look around me and I see
no one else at all like me

No one I hear, no one I see
Is there something wrong with me

No one else I've ever known
Sometimes I feel I'm all alone

Then one day I realize
individuality's been compromised

So many people all the same
all the faces, all the names

And from this originality drought
I can see that I stand out

A look, a word, a thought all mine
my destiny I alone define

My distinction true and tried
In my singularity I take pride

No one else at all like me
That's the way it ought to be
