Back Story

This was more of me just fooling around with my camera in the very early days, seeing what kinds of things I could come up with, and practicing assembling clips into cohesive productions. That old camcorder I was using had a built-in macro lens that was quite amazing and allowed me to get really up close to small objects. I started recording some of the little toys that I had lying around, and decided to make a short video out of it.

Back then I had no editing equipment or software. All I could do was to dub from one VCR onto another. It was not easy. You had to time it just right so that the receiving VCR started recording at just the moment that the sending VCR started playing. As you can see from the bad edits in this piece, there was no way to be precise.

Clearly this video was not a serious production. I probably should have just left it languishing in my archives, but figured I would put it out there to give a tiny glimpse into my creative process when I was just starting out. FWIW.
